Costumed man had air pistol as prop on LIRR train, MTA police say

MTA police issued a summons to a man who they said had an air pistol on a Long Island Rail Road train at Penn Station on Saturday night.

The unidentified man, who wore a costume, was on his way to a screening of the “Suicide Squad” in Manhattan, police said.

LIRR officials said the costumed man got on the train at Carle Place and passengers reported he pulled out a gun on the train, police said.

Police met the train at Penn Station and detained the man while they checked out the gun.

Officials said he told them the gun was a prop for his costume.

The unidentified man was cited for bringing the air pistol into New York City, LIRR officials said.
