Cops seek man in party shooting
Police were seeking the shooter who fired a bullet that went through the left calf of a 19-year-old man late Tuesday during a party at the victim's North Amityville home.
Darryl Walker was outside his Smith Street home about 10:45 p.m. when he was shot in the left calf, said First Precinct Det. Lt. Robert Edwards. "We don't believe it was a random shooting," he said. "We believe he was targeted."
Walker was treated at Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip and released, police said.
The motive for the shooting was not clear, police said.

NYC woman charged with forgery
A Manhattan woman has been charged with forgery and other crimes after she tried to cash a check in another woman's name at a Greenvale bank, Nassau County police said.
Kathleen S. Morrison, 54, of 507 W. 42nd St., was arrested at 5:10 p.m. Tuesday after she presented a forged driver's license at a Wells Fargo Bank branch on Northern Boulevard and tried to withdraw money from another woman's account, police said.
She was being held on $5,000 cash or $10,000 bond following arraignment in First District Court in Hempstead on charges of forgery, possession of forged instruments, identify theft and grand larceny, according to online court records.
