The call said there was a white minivan "full of fireworks" parked on a Wantagh street with people "all around it." By the time police were done at the scene a Pennsylvania man had been arrested and charged with selling fireworks - and the contents of the van had been confiscated by police.

Nassau County Police said the incident occurred Wednesday at 10:37 p.m. when officers responding to Fortune Court and Spring Lane in Wantagh found the white Dodge minivan backed into a driveway on Fortune Court.

Several people were gathered around the minivan, police said. As officers approached, police said they observed what was described as "a large amount of fireworks" inside the van.

The arson squad was called to the scene to confiscate the fireworks and secure the van.

Police arrested Samuel Andujar, 42, of Tobyhanna, Pa. He was charged with unlawfully dealing with fireworks and dangerous fireworks. Police said he was later released on an appearance ticket - and is due back in court on July 15.
