3 sought in Mastic Beach assault with pot of hot coffee, cops say

A verbal dispute at a gas station in Mastic Beach turned violent when one of the men hit a customer in the head with a pot of hot coffee, Suffolk County police said.

The assault occurred at 10:25 p.m. on July 1 at the Track Gas Station at 310 Neighborhood Rd. and police said they need the public’s help in finding the three men who were arguing with the victim before the assault.

Detectives asked anyone with information about the attack to call Crime Stoppers at 800-220-8477. All calls will be kept confidential, police said.

Police are offering a $5,000 reward for information that leads to an arrest.

The victim was treated at a hospital, police said.
