A man inside an Oyster Bay Dunkin’ Donuts foiled a robbery attempt early Wednesday, holding the suspect until Nassau County police arrived.

Police said in a news release the man of the hour, 22, was inside the Dunkin’ Donuts at 159 Pine Hollow Rd. at about 3:30 a.m. when the suspect entered the shop and demanded money from the cashier, a man, 31.

The suspect, Antonio Galea, 52, of 17 Pine Dr., “kept his right hand inside his pocket simulating as if he had a handgun,” the release said.

The man then grabbed Galea and held him until police arrived.

Galea was arrested without further incident; there were no reported injuries and no gun was found, police said.

Galea is charged with second-degree robbery and is scheduled to be arraigned Wednesday at First District Court in Hempstead.
