Nassau County police on Saturday arrested a 21-year-old man who burglarized a Freeport home more than two months ago, authorities said.
Gabriel A. Tavarez, 21, was apprehended early in the morning at his home on Old Mill Road in Baldwin.
Police said that on May 2 he illegally entered the Freeport residence on Westside Avenue and stole about $3,100 in electronics, including cellphones, a television, a laptop computer and a wrestling belt.
Authorities found DNA evidence at the scene. The wrestling belt was recovered on May 28, police said.
Tavarez has been charged with second-degree burglary and criminal possession of stolen property. He is scheduled to be arraigned Sunday in First District Court in Hempstead.
