A Bethpage man arguing with another man and a teenager on New Year’s Eve first tried to run them down with his car and then stabbed both of them, Nassau County police said.

Jeff Saint-Gerard, 28, of 7 Manchester Dr., is charged with two counts of first-degree assault, criminal possession of a weapon and reckless endangerment, police said.

At about 7:28 p.m., Saint-Gerard was in front of his home, arguing with the two victims, ages 29 and 16, police said.

The argument “escalated” when Saint-Gerard “attempted to hit both victims with his 2012 Volkswagen Jetta,” according to a news release.

Saint-Gerard missed hitting them, police said, then got out of his car and stabbed them. He cut the man in the face, left arm and chest; he stabbed the teen in his chest, police said.

Both were driven to a hospital in someone’s personal vehicle, police said. Each is listed in stable condition.

A police spokeswoman said Friday it was not clear what precipitated the argument.

Saint-Gerard was arrested at his residence and a knife was recovered at the scene.

He is scheduled to be arraigned Saturday at First District Court in Hempstead.
