Suffolk County Crime Stoppers and detectives from the Riverhead Police Department have released a surveillance image and are seeking the public's help to identify a suspect in the theft of two safes from a Baiting Hollow restaurant on July 2, 2016. Photo Credit: SCPD

The suspect wore a ski mask when he burglarized the Cooperage Inn in Baiting Hollow on July 2, stealing two safes, Riverhead Town police said. Unfortunately for him, that mask failed to cover his eyes, eyebrows and a portion of his nose — all seen clearly in a surveillance photo as he stares directly into the camera.

Police are hoping the public will recognize the suspect and help bring him to justice.

The burglary at the Suffolk restaurant on Sound Avenue occurred at 3:41 a.m. Police said that the safes stolen contained an undisclosed amount of cash.

Police ask anyone with information about the burglary to call Crime Stoppers at 800-220-8477. All calls will remain confidential.
