Cops charge Islip Terrace teen with making graffiti

So you can get arrested for being a slob.

A teenager who spray-painted his tag name "SLOB" on at least four locations in Islip Terrace - including at the apartment complex where he lives - was arrested Friday morning, police said.

Michael Watts, 18, of Islip Terrace, was charged with four counts of making graffiti, a class A misdemeanor, Suffolk police said.

Following an investigation, Third Precinct Crime Section Officers John Oakley and Theodore Martinez arrested Watts at his home at 10:50 a.m. The officers noticed the teen had spray-painted "SLOB" on a fence surrounding his apartment complex at 118 Carleton Ave., police said.

Watts will be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip at a later date.

Anyone with information about graffiti in the Third Precinct is urged to call 631-854-8326 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS.
