A drunken driver crashed into a tractor trailer that was trying to turn around in Speonk on Wednesday night, shutting down Montauk Highway for more than an hour, Southampton Town police said.

No injuries were reported in the 10:15 p.m. crash, police said.

An eastbound 18-wheeler had turned right into the Speonk Lumber parking lot and was making a U-turn on Montauk Highway when a pickup truck driven by Luis Diaz, 48, of Shirley, slammed into it, police said.

The tractor trailer did not jackknife, as police reports had indicated minutes after the crash.

Diaz was charged with aggravated unlicensed driving, a felony, and driving while intoxicated, police said. His arrest was being processed shortly after midnight.

Montauk Highway reopened about 11:25 p.m.
