A Farmingdale man faces arraignment Monday after, Nassau County police said, he banged on the apartment door of a 75-year-old man early Sunday — then punched the victim in the face, chest and arms, choking him and biting him in the arm before being finally restrained by the victim’s family.
The suspect, Pedro Callejas, 42, of Eastern Parkway, was arrested at the scene by responding Second Precinct officers and charged with first-degree burglary and second-degree assault, police said. He faces arraignment in First District Court in Hempstead.
Police said the incident occurred at an apartment on Eastern Parkway in Farmingdale on Sunday at 3:57 a.m.
It was then, police said, that Callejas banged on the apartment door of the 75-year-old victim, then attacked him.
Police could not immediately say if the men knew each other — or were neighbors in the apartment building.
The victim suffered lacerations to his left eye and forearm and also suffered bruising, police said.
He was transported by police ambulance to a hospital for treatment, according to police.
