Cops investigate Chase Bank robbery in Patchogue

Suffolk police are investigating a robbery of a Patchogue bank Thursday morning, authorities said.

Police said an unknown man entered a Chase Bank at 472 Rte. 112, shortly after 8:30 a.m. and handed the teller a note demanding cash.

The teller gave him the money and the man left the bank and ran westbound on Harris Street. Authorities said the suspect may be driving a white Chevrolet Impala.

He is described as being in his 20s, with a thin build, short brown hair and a beard. He wore a Penn State University pullover, bluejeans, sneakers, and an Oakley baseball cap and sunglasses.

Authorities encourage anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers at 800-220-8477. Callers will remain anonymous.
