Police said they are looking for a man who stole a trendy KAWS figurine valued at $5,000 from a Southampton store.

The man was accompanied by two children when the stole the Kaws Companion — sometimes called a KAWS Seated Companion — from Cabana on Jobs Lane about 6 p.m. on July 22, police said.

Police asked anyone with information to call Suffolk County Crime Stoppers at 800-220-8477.

KAWS figurines and statues have become a fad in recent years, sometimes fetching tens of thousands of dollars at auctions.

The Phillips auction house in London says on its website that a KAWS “Ten Feet Accomplice (Pink), 2010” was sold for $352,000 in 2014.

A KAWS Companion balloon was part of the 2012 Thanksgiving Day parade in New York City.

Tulane University in New Orleans unveiled a 16-foot KAWS statue outdoors in 2015, and described creator and namesake Brian Donnelly of Brooklyn as “an internationally acclaimed artist.”
