A dishwasher at Prime, a popular Huntington steakhouse and brunch restaurant, has been arrested and charged with placing a cellphone camera in an employee bathroom, Suffolk County police said.

Jose Rivas, 34, of Sunset Drive, Huntington, was charged with unlawful surveillance. At arraignment Sunday in First District Court in Central Islip, bail was set at $5,000 cash or $10,000 bond, which had not been posted.

Police said a female employee of Prime, at 117 New York Ave., discovered a cellphone in an employee bathroom on Saturday about 8:30 p.m. It was set to record, police said.

An investigation led to Rivas’ arrest, police said.

A Prime manager declined to comment on Sunday.
