A fight between acquaintances earlier this month led to the arrest of a man Wednesday, charged with second-degree robbery, Nassau County police said.

Walter Fuentes-Carranza, 21, of Northern Boulevard in Little Neck, Queens, was arrested at his place of employment and faces arraignment Wednesday in First District Court, Hempstead.

Police said that at about 3:50 a.m. Sept. 8 Fuentes-Carranza and the acquaintance, identified only as a 36-year-old man, had a verbal argument on Northern Boulevard in Great Neck that escalated — Fuentes-Carranza striking the other man in the face with a rock, taking his cellphone and $500 in cash before fleeing the scene. The victim refused medical attention, police said.

Police said only that Fuentes-Carranza was arrested after an investigation.
