Cops: Robbery victim in Roosevelt hit in head with bottle

Nassau County police said they are investigating a robbery in Roosevelt early Sunday in which the victim was hit in the head with a bottle.

Police said the robbery happened at 1:30 a.m. when a 58-year-old man walking on Nassau Road was approached by three males who demanded cash and then hit him in the head with a bottle as he walked away.

The three suspects then fled on foot in an unknown direction without any proceeds, detectives said. The victim was taken by Nassau County Police Ambulance to a hospital and treated for a laceration on his head.

Police said the suspects were all described as being 5 feet 9 inches tall with stocky builds. Two were wearing black shirts and the third wore a collared shirt, police said.

Detectives ask anyone with information about the robbery to call Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 800-244-TIPS. All callers will remain anonymous.
