Cops seek man who harassed woman in Wainscott store

Suffolk County Crime Stoppers and East Hampton Town police are on the lookout for a man who harassed a woman in a Wainscott store.

County police said at approximately 3 p.m. on Aug. 10 the man went into the HomeGoods store at 368 Montauk Hwy., approached a woman from behind and placed his cell phone underneath her skirt without her knowledge.

The man left the store after the woman’s friends saw him.

The man is described as about age 40 with paint on his shorts and hands.

Anyone with information about this crime is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 800-220-TIPS. There is a cash reward of as much as $5,000 for information that leads to an arrest.

All calls are kept confidential.
