A tall, thin man in a flannel shirt held up a bank in Port Jefferson Station Thursday afternoon, Suffolk police said.

He handed a note demanding cash to the teller at the TD Bank on Nesconset Highway and ran off with the money through the parking lot toward Broadway, east of Old Town Road, police said. It happened at about 2:15 p.m., police said.

The robber had a goatee and appeared to be 6 feet tall and in his 30s, police said. He wore a long-sleeved, plaid flannel shirt, bluejeans, dark-colored shoes, a baseball hat and sunglasses, police said.

Detectives ask anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers at 800-220-TIPS. All calls will remain confidential.
