An Amityville woman was arrested Wednesday after she falsely reported that her co-worker — an ex-boyfriend — had sexually abused a vulnerable client at work, police said.

Judy Campbell, 53, had alleged that her colleague had “inappropriately touched a female resident” at the United Cerebral Palsy residence on Indian Head Road in Commack, Suffolk County police said.

Campbell, of Dixon Avenue, was arrested at 6:05 a.m. and charged with third-degree falsely reporting an incident, police said. She was to be arraigned Wednesday at First District Court in Central Islip.

An investigation determined that Campbell anonymously called the New York State Justice Center for the Protection of People with Special Needs to report a sex offense, police said.

“A further investigation concluded no abuse occurred,” and Campbell “admitted she lied about the allegation” regarding the male co-worker, whom she “had previously dated,” police said in a news release.
