A resident of a group home in Massapequa was arrested Wednesday on charges of burglary and grand larceny in the theft of a gold necklace and two music keyboards from two other residents of the home, Nassau County police said.

Desmind K. Yarborough, 23, was charged with second-degree burglary and fourth-degree grand larceny after his arrest by Seventh Squad detectives at 12:30 p.m.

Nassau County police said an investigation determined that Yarborough had “removed” and hidden a gold necklace from a male resident, 58, of the group home, whose location was not provided, and said that Yarborough also had stolen two Casio keyboards from a man, 46, in the home in October.

Yarborough is scheduled for arraignment Thursday in First District Court in Hempstead.
