East Meadow hookah bar fight injures 4, Nassau police say

An early morning disturbance outside a hookah lounge on Hempstead Turnpike in East Meadow left four people hospitalized with undisclosed injuries Friday, police said.

Nassau County police said officers responded to a 911 call reporting about a dozen people fighting outside the Kasbah Moroccan Lounge at 2:30 a.m. and found four men with lacerations to their faces and bodies from an assailant with a box cutter.

The assailant fled before officers arrived, police said, and the four men, ages 21 to 25, were taken to nearby Nassau University Medical Center in East Meadow for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

There were no reported arrests. The cause of the incident is under investigation.
