Nassau Executive Edward Mangano, Oyster Bay Supervisor John Venditto arrested on corruption charges, Feds say

Nassau County Executive Edward Mangano, his wife, Linda, and Oyster Bay Town Supervisor John Venditto were arrested Thursday, Oct. 20, 2016, in connection with a 13-count federal indictment on charges including conspiracy to commit bribery, bribery, conspiracy to commit honest services fraud and honest services fraud, according to sources familiar with the case.

Nassau Republican officials called Thursday, Oct. 20, 2016, for the resignations of Nassau County Executive Edward Mangano and Oyster Bay Town Supervisor John Venditto, both of who have been indicted on corruption charges. The officials are, from left, Flower Hill Mayor Elaine Phillips, a State Senate candidate; Sen. Kemp Hannon, Garden City; Senate candidate Chris McGrath; State Sen. Jack Martins, Old Westbury, a candidate for Congress,  and State Sen. Carl Marcellino, Syosset.
