Nassau police said they arrested an Elmont man Monday and charged him with attempted burglary after they said he was found standing in his neighbor’s Stone Street yard with a severed window screen and near a garage that had been ransacked.
Justin Luna, 20, also of Stone Street, was arrested after a 59-year-old resident of the home heard a noise on her roof and called police, Nassau’s Fifth Squad detectives said.
Officers arrived and saw a “male in the rear yard along with a cut window screen and an attached, ransacked garage,” police said.
Luna was arrested after an investigation and charged with second-degree attempted burglary. He is scheduled to be arraigned Tuesday in First District Court in Hempstead. His attorney could not be reached for comment.
