A Ronkonkoma woman, whose services as a baby sitter were terminated last fall by the couple who employed her, was arrested and charged with stalking after she attempted to sign the 4-year-old boy she once watched out of his school — and later tried to leave a gift for the child, police said.

Casey Evans, 29, of Peconic Street, was arrested Saturday and charged with fourth-degree stalking and second-degree trespass.

She was arraigned Sunday in First District Court in Central Islip and ordered held on $1,000 bond or $1,000 cash bail. A restraining order also was issued, according to court records. Records indicate she was due back in court Thursday.

Suffolk County police said Evans had been employed by a Sayville couple from August to November 2015, but then was terminated. But on March 30, police said, Evans attempted to sign the 4-year-old out of his school and, later that day, “illegally entered the family’s residence to leave a gift for the child.”
