A Floral Park man violated Leandra’s Law on Monday when he was driving drunk with his 1-year-old son as a passenger, Nassau County police said.

Hardikkumar Patel, 31, of 266th Street, is charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated, endangering the welfare of a child and DWI; he is scheduled to be arraigned Tuesday at First District Court in Hempstead.

Third Precinct officers said Patel was involved in an accident at Jericho Turnpike and New Hyde Park Road in New Hyde Park at about 9 p.m.

There were no injuries, police said.

The child was released to a family member.

Under Leandra’s Law, passed in 2009, drivers who are intoxicated or impaired by drugs with a child 15 years or younger in the vehicle can be charged with a felony. The law was passed after the death of Leandra Rosado, 11, who was killed Oct. 11, 2009, in a DWI accident after the minivan in which she was a passenger crashed on the West Side Highway in Manhattan.
