Cops: Man in Freeport home held at gunpoint as robbers take cash, other items

Three male suspects entered a Freeport home late Sunday morning and while one of them held a man inside at gunpoint, the other two took items and cash before the trio fled, Nassau police said.

The suspects entered the home on Hotchkiss Place through a rear door at 11:41 a.m., police said in a news release. Once inside, one of the men displayed a silver handgun and struck a 22-year-old man in the head and ordered him to get on the ground, police said.

After taking various items and an unknown amount of cash, police said, the suspects fled in a silver four-door Nissan.

The victim was treated for his injuries at the scene, police said.

Police described the suspects as between ages 22 and 25, and about 6 feet tall. All three were wearing dark clothing and black masks.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at 800-244-TIPS. All callers will remain anonymous, police said.
