Hempstead cellphone store robbed, Nassau police say

Two men, armed with a handgun, robbed a T-Mobile store on Peninsula Boulevard in Hempstead on Wednesday.

Now, Nassau County police said Major Case Bureau detectives are searching for the duo — and are asking for the public’s help.

The robbery took place at about 4:15 p.m.

Police said they stole an undisclosed amount of cash before fleeing on foot, headed south toward Grove Street.

Two employees were in the store at the time of the robbery, but no customers were present. No one was injured.

Police said both men appeared to be in their mid-20s and between 5-foot-9 and 6-foot with thin builds. Both wore hooded jackets.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 800-244-8477. All calls will remain confidential.
