Suffolk County police have released this photo of a man they said they are seeking to identify in connection with a hit-and-run accident in Huntington in June 28, 2016. The man was driving a 2003 Hyundai Elantra on Pulaski Road when he hit a 2016 Chevrolet Silverado at 7:30 p.m., they said. Photo Credit: SCPD

The police have a license plate — and a photo of the suspect and his car. But, apparently, neither has led Suffolk County police detectives to the man wanted in a hit-and-run accident last month in Huntington.

So police are asking the public’s help locating the man. They’re asking anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers at 800-220-8477. All calls will remain confidential and callers are eligible for a cash reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to an arrest in the case.

Police said the crash occurred on Pulaski Road at about 7:30 p.m. June 28.

It was then, police said, that the suspect, driving a silver 2003 Hyundai Elantra with the Virginia license plate VNF-1536, collided with a 2016 Chevrolet Silverado. Police said the suspect exited the vehicle, but then he fled when he learned the other driver was notifying police.

The Silverado driver got a photo of the man and the car — and the license plate.

Police said officers went to a home associated with the plate, but found no one there.
