A Huntington Station man was charged in connection with the slashing of another man in the face and chest Tuesday, Suffolk police said.

Second Precinct detectives tracked down Camilo Rivera, 40, of East Eighth Street and charged him with first-degree assault, police said. He was held pending arraignment Wednesday.

Police had responded to Fairground Avenue in Huntington Station after a 911 caller said a man had been stabbed at about 11:45 a.m., authorities said.

The victim, Juan Rosa Corrado, 38, was taken to Huntington Hospital with serious injuries, police said.

The two men knew each other, police said. Details on what started the fight and Corrado’s condition were not immediately available Tuesday night.
