A Levittown man who struck another man several times with a wooden club last month faces assault charges, Nassau County police said.

James Slattery, 18, of 25 Loring Rd., was involved in an argument with a man, 40, at a house on Chimney Lane in Levittown at about 6 p.m. Dec. 27, 2015, police said.

Slattery “struck the victim with a wooden club on his neck causing him to fall to the ground and then struck him several more times about the body,” police said in a news release.

The victim was taken to a hospital where he was treated for “sustained abrasions, bruising and a concussion,” police said.

Second Squad detectives arrested Slattery on Tuesday on a charge of second-degree assault. He is scheduled to be arraigned Wednesday at First District Court in Hempstead.
