A Wyandanch man was convicted Friday of sex crimes against two girls, both younger than 13 years old when they were abused, the Suffolk County District Attorney’s office said.
Juan Carlos Henriquez Ramos, 31, of Parkway Boulevard, faces up to 50 years in prison at sentencing on Nov. 2, officials said.
A Suffolk County jury deliberated four hours to convict him of two counts of first-degree rape, two of first-degree sexual abuse, first-degree course of sexual conduct against a child and second-degree course of sexual conduct against a child, prosecutors said in a news release.
In that case, the girl was younger than 11 in June and July of 2011 when she was raped and sexually abused, prosecutors said. The course of sexual conduct charges stemmed from their encounters in September 2011 and January 2013, they said.
The second victim was younger than 13 when Ramos had sexual contact with her in 2012, authorities said. The jury convicted him of first-degree sexual abuse but acquitted him of two counts of first-degree sexual abuse.
Ramos was represented by legal aid, which has a policy of not commenting on cases. He will be held in jail until sentencing.
