Man, 59, shot on street corner in Gordon Heights, cops say

Suffolk County police detectives are searching for a shooter who injured a 59-year-old man while trying to rob him at an intersection in a residential neighborhood in Gordon Heights Friday night.
The suspect met the victim at West Lane and Gray Avenue about 10:05 p.m., police said, where he shot him in the hand and legs while attempting to steal from him.
The victim, whose name was not released, was taken to a hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries, police said.
It was not immediately clear how the two are known to each other or if any property was taken, police said.
A police spokeswoman said detectives are investigating the shooting and have not released any further details.
