Suffolk County police said they have made an arrest in connection with the stabbing of two men in Terryville.
Daniel Jusino, 20, of Centereach was arrested at 10:20 p.m. Thursday at the Sixth Precinct in Selden, police said.
Police could not say whether he surrendered at the precinct, or had been picked up elsewhere and placed under arrest at the precinct.
Jusino was awaiting arraignment Friday in First District Court in Central Islip on charges of assault in the first degree and assault in the second degree, police said.
The events leading to the stabbing began about 9 p.m. Wednesday when Jusino, who was driving a Jeep on Jayne Boulevard, slowed and “yelled something” at a man walking along the street, police said.
Police did not disclose what was said, but said the pedestrian ran to the nearby home of a friend as Jusino and his passenger got out of the vehicle and chased him.
Hearing the commotion, police said, two occupants of the home came to the victim’s aid and were stabbed. Neither victim was identified by police.
One was treated at a hospital and released, and the other victim underwent surgery and remained hospitalized Friday, police said.
The man being chased was not injured, police said.
A police spokeswoman declined to comment on whether the passenger in the Jeep had been identified or arrested.
“The investigation is continuing, “ police said in a news release.
