Cops: Man beaten, robbed of cash, cellphone in Inwood, cops say

A man was beaten and robbed of his cellphone early Thursday after he was attacked by up to three men wearing masks on an Inwood street, Nassau police said.

The victim, 25, was walking north on Lawrence Avenue at about 5:50 p.m., Nassau police said, when three young men wearing black clothing and black face masks approached him. One man punched him in the face as the other two knocked him down and kicked him, police said.

The robbers took the victim’s cellphone and some cash, and ran off west on Loretta Street. The victim was treated for minor injuries at the scene.
