Man charged in sex assault on Southampton Village woman, cops say

A 19-year-old Southampton Village woman asleep in her bedroom on Friday morning was choked, threatened with bodily harm and sexually assaulted, police said.

The victim was treated at Peconic Bay Medical Center in Riverhead.

Southampton Village Police, in a news release, said a suspect was arrested after a foot pursuit.

Marvin Saul Siciliano-Nunez, 20, of Hampton Bays, also is accused of having stolen jewelry and a cellphone from multiple houses on a property on Little Plains Road.

Siciliano-Nunez stole a skateboard from a pool house before he entered the property’s main house, where he assaulted the woman, police said.

Responding to an emergency call of a possible sexual assault at 8:05 a.m., police said they set up a perimeter around the area.

The defendant was seen walking east on Meeting House Lane, about a tenth of a mile from where the crimes occurred.

Approached by an officer, Siciliano-Nunez began running; a second officer joined the chase, and the defendant was arrested, police said.

Siciliano-Nunez is being charged with first- and second-degree burglary, first-degree sexual abuse, and first-degree criminal sex act — all felonies.

He also is charged with criminal obstruction of breathing or blood circulation, a misdemeanor.

The defendant is scheduled to be arraigned Saturday morning at the Southampton Village Justice Court, police said.

In May, Siciliano-Nunez was charged with a felony gang assault by the Southampton Town Police.

Siciliano-Nunez also is believed to have ties to the gang MS-13, police said.
