A Uniondale man was arraigned Sunday on charges he allegedly placed an iPhone under a woman’s dress and took a picture, Nassau County police said.
According to detectives, the incident happened at 12:40 p.m. on June 30 as the woman, 24, was walking in the vicinity of 11th Street and County Seat Drive in Garden City.
The woman “immediately questioned the subject’s behavior” and he pushed her and fled on foot, police said.
A subsequent investigation led to the arrest Saturday night of Jonathan Vega, 25, at his Park Place residence.
Vega is charged with second-degree unlawful surveillance and second-degree harassment. Bail was set at $15,000 bond or $7,500 cash during his arraignment at First District Court in Hempstead.
Vega’s next court appearance on the charges is scheduled for Wednesday.
He is also scheduled, according to court records, to appear in court on Oct. 17 on charges of forcible touching and second-degree unlawful surveillance related to a separate July 19 incident.
Nassau police said in that incident, Vega tried to take pictures under the skirt of a woman waiting at a bus stop in Uniondale. Vega allegedly also grabbed the woman from behind and fondled her, police said. He was arrested on Aug. 22 in connection with that incident.
