Men told boy, 10, to get into car in Freeport, police say

Two men in a sedan told a 10-year-old boy to get into their car Thursday afternoon in Freeport, Nassau County police said.

The boy was walking near the intersection of North Brookside and Maryland Avenues around 3:15 p.m. when the men in a white, four-door sedan stopped and “told him to get in,” according to a news release from police.

Police said the boy ran away and was not hurt, while the men drove away north on North Brookside Avenue. The suspects are in the 20s or 30s, with high-top hair, and the car’s passenger wore sunglasses, police said.

The police ask anyone with information about the incident to call Crime Stoppers anonymously at 800-244-TIPS.
