Nassau cops seek woman’s attacker at Hempstead bus depot

Nassau County police are looking for a man they say choked and punched a woman in Hempstead before robbing her early Saturday morning.

Authorities said a 26-year-old woman was at the Hempstead Bus Depot when a man began following her. When she tried to flee, the man grabbed her and choked her until she fainted, police said. When she woke up, the man punched her and grabbed her handbag, police said. The woman was taken to a hospital and treated for injuries.

The man is described as having a thin, muscular build and short hair. Authorities believe he is between 20 and 25 years old and was wearing a gold necklace during the attack.
