Three teens have been arrested and charged with stealing a vehicle in Roosevelt on Wednesday and another vehicle in Bellmore early Thursday, Nassau County police said.
The trio stole a 2017 Ford Explorer from Greenwich Avenue in Roosevelt at 9:40 p.m. Wednesday, then stole a 2016 Ford Escape from a driveway on Boundary Road in Bellmore at 12 a.m. Thursday, police said.
While stealing the Escape from a driveway they struck the car parked behind it that belonged to the same person, police said.
Detectives from the Nassau County’s Seventh Squad and officers from the Hempstead Village Police Department arrested the trio and recovered both cars on Ormond Street in Bellmore at 10:40 a.m. Thursday, police said.
One of the defendants was 15 and was charged as a juvenile, police said. Khalid Brown, 16 of Hempstead, and Jerell Deleon, 16, of Bellmore, face arraignment Friday in First District Court in Hempstead on charges of third-degree grand larceny and possession of stolen property.
Police did not say what led them to the defendants.
