Nassau County bank robbery suspect sought, police say

Nassau County police have released photos of a suspect wanted in four bank robberies since February.

Police said the first three robberies occurred at Bethpage Federal Credit Union branches: Feb. 17 at 1 p.m. on Grand Avenue in Baldwin; March 27 at 12:35 p.m. on Merrick Road in Freeport; and May 9 at 12:58 p.m. on Nassau Road in Roosevelt.

The most recent bank robbery occurred at the Ocean Financial Federal Credit Union on Atlantic Avenue in Oceanside. That robbery occurred on May 22 at 12:42 p.m., police said.

In each of the cases, police said, the suspect entered the bank branch and handed a teller a note demanding cash.

Police have not said how much was taken in any of the robberies. No one was injured.

The suspect wore dark-colored clothes, gloves and a black mask during the robbery in Baldwin. In the Oceanside robbery, police said the suspect wore a black knit hat, eyeglasses and a blue hooded jacket.

Police asked anyone with information about the robberies or the suspect to call Crime Stoppers at 800-244-8477. All calls will remain confidential.
