Nassau County police are investigating a fatal stabbing in Glen Cove.

A municipal worker found a man’s body at 7:28 a.m. Friday on the side of Chama, a Portuguese barbecue restaurant on Glen Street, said Det. Capt. John Azzata, commanding officer of the homicide squad.

Police said they believe the victim was targeted.

“This is not a random act,” Azzata said.

Azzata declined to identify the victim or provide additional details on Friday afternoon. Homicide detectives are investigating, and no arrests have been made.

The owner of A. Razzano’s Salumeria Latticinia grocery, which is next to the crime scene, said a Glen Cove sanitation worker came into his business after finding the body outside, near a trash bin.

“He said there was a body, so I called the police,” said the business owner, who declined to give his name.

Police ask anyone with information to call Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 800-244-8477.
