A third Uniondale man has been arrested in the fatal shooting of another Uniondale man last month, Nassau police said Friday.
Joshua Taylor, 24, of Park Avenue, was arrested last weekend in Hartford, Connecticut, and extradited back to Nassau on Friday, police said. Taylor is scheduled to be arraigned on a second-degree murder charge Saturday in First District Court in Hempstead, police said.
Two other Uniondale men had previously been arrested in connection with the Aug. 21 killing of Jude Saint-Clair, 32, outside a building on the 900 block of Nassau Road in Uniondale, police said.
Jorge Burgess, 23, of Oakley Street, was arrested Aug. 30, and Kadeem Lyle, 22, of Uniondale Avenue, Uniondale, was arrested Aug. 29, police said.
Burgess was charged with second-degree murder and criminal possession of a weapon. Lyle was charged with second-degree criminal facilitation and first-degree hindering prosecution, police said.
Burgess is being held without bail and is due back in court Oct. 7. Lyle was ordered held on $750,000 bond or $600,000 and is due back in court Oct. 5, online court records show.
According to a criminal complaint, Burgess fired “multiple gunshots” at Saint-Clair, hitting him in the upper right chest and left shoulder, according to court documents.
Burgess and Taylor fired “separate weapons at the victim,” according to police and court records.
Lyle drove Taylor in a 2013 black BMW within a block of the crime scene, “believing it probable that the shooter intended to kill” someone, according to police and a criminal complaint.
After the shooting, one of the suspects got back in Lyle’s car and fled, the complaint said.
