Nassau police seek man in attempted Hempstead bank robbery

Nassau police are investigating an attempted bank robbery in Hempstead Tuesday in which the suspect fled without any proceeds.

According to Robbery Squad detectives, a man entered Chase Bank at 136 Fulton Ave., passed a note to a teller demanding money and then fled, police said.

There were seven employees and two customers in the bank at the time. There were no injuries, police said.

The suspect is described as being 30-35 years of age, standing between 6-foot-1 and 6-foot-2, having a thin build, and wearing a white hat, a gray long-sleeved exercise jacket, blue jeans and black shoes.
