Pair arrested in theft of Louis Vuitton goods, police say

Nassau County police said two people were arrested Friday, charged with stealing Louis Vuitton merchandise in Manhasset and East Garden City.

Police said Nestor Zambrano, 38, and Melissa Sanchez, 28, both of 34th Avenue in Flushing, Queens, are charged with stealing $6,000 worth of merchandise from a Louis Vuitton store Jan. 15 at 2120 Northern Blvd.

Detectives said the couple then went on March 30 to the Louis Vuitton store inside Macy’s at Roosevelt Field mall in Garden City, accompanied by Sanchez’s 6-month-old baby, and stole $2,500 worth of merchandise.

Police with the Nassau Third Squad and the NYPD Grand Larceny Task Force arrested Zambrano and Sanchez at their home Friday in Queens, officials said.

They were both charged with two counts of grand larceny and endangering the welfare of a child. Sanchez was also charged with possession of a forged instrument. They are scheduled to be arraigned Saturday in First District Court in Hempstead.
