Police investigate North Bellmore home invasion

Two gunmen forced their way into a North Bellmore apartment early Monday, ransacking it in front of a family of three, including a 2-year-old, Nassau County police said.

The two men knocked on the door of the apartment on Lincoln Street just before 12:30 a.m., according to First Squad detectives.

A man, 29, a woman, 22, and their child were in the apartment, and the suspects demanded money and property, police said.

Police said the two ransacked the apartment and left without any proceeds.

One suspect was heavyset, wore a red baseball hat and black pants, and was armed with a silver handgun; the other was thin, wore a ski mask and winter hat, and had a black handgun.
