A man handed a note demanding money to the cashier at a Farmingdale Starbucks early Friday, then took a seat in the store when he was told there was no money, Nassau police said.

The cashier at the Secatogue Avenue store activated the silent alarm, which summoned police.

Officers arrested Rashawn J. Mcknight, 29, of Wyandanch, without incident about 6:25 a.m., authorities said.

Mcknight did not show any weapons during the attempted holdup, but officers confiscated a Taser from him, authorities said.

Three employees were present at the time, police said, but there were no customers.

Mcknight, of Jamaica Avenue, was scheduled to be arraigned Saturday on charges of third-degree robbery and third-degree criminal possession of a weapon, police said.
