Police seek 2 in Roosevelt street robbery

Nassau County police are seeking the public’s help in gathering information about a robbery Saturday night in Roosevelt during which a 51-year-old man was punched and his wallet and cellphone stolen.

Police said the incident occurred at 7:20 p.m. when the victim was walking east on Mirin Avenue and was approached from behind by two men about 20 years old who were wearing dark clothing and ski masks.

The attackers punched the man, knocking him to the ground, and then took his wallet and phone before fleeing in an unknown direction.

Detectives asked anyone with information to contact Nassau Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-8477. All calls will kept confidential.
