A Brooklyn teenager robbed two food delivery people in Nassau and was taken into custody Thursday after a joint investigation with the NYPD, Nassau police said.
In the first robbery, an unknown person ordered Chinese food Aug 19. for delivery to a Laurel Drive home in Hempstead. When the deliveryman arrived, the suspect, 16, and an accomplice, dragged him from his vehicle, police said. The robbers took off in the victim's vehicle. The deliveryman was treated at the scene, police said.
On Aug. 20 in Valley Stream, an unknown person ordered Chinese food for delivery to a residence on Arkansas Drive, police said. The teenager and two accomplices attacked the driver, taking her car keys, wallet and money, police said. As they drove off in her car, police said, they struck her with the vehicle. The victim was treated for abrasions and swelling at a hospital, police said.
The teenager was arrested at his East 104th Street home with the help of the NYPD's Brooklyn robbery squad and arraigned Thursday in Hempstead on six counts of second-degree robbery and second-degree assault.
He was charged as an adult but police declined to release his name.
Police said they are still looking for the other robbery suspects.
