A Roslyn man who barricaded himself in his Tatterson Street home Tuesday, prompting police to close nearby roads, faces menacing and obstruction charges, Nassau County police said.
Steven Liebman, 50, appeared to display a rifle when officers from the Nassau County Sheriff’s Office arrived at his house at about 2 p.m. to serve court-related documents, police said.
The officers retreated and notified Nassau police, who set up a perimeter and shut nearby roads for public safety reasons, police said.
After about eight hours, Liebman surrendered, police said; he did not have a rifle, and a police spokesman on Wednesday said they are not releasing what kind of object he had when officers arrived.
Liebman is charged with second-degree menacing and second-degree obstruction of government administration. He is scheduled to be arraigned Wednesday at First District Court in Hempstead.
