A female deli worker was sexually assaulted at knifepoint in Huntington Station in August, police said Friday, asking the public to help them find the suspect.

The man followed the woman, who was working at Island Deli at 1888 New York Ave., into a refrigerator in the back about noon on Aug. 30, Suffolk County police said.

Pushing her into a rack, he threatened her with a knife before the assault, police said. She was treated at Huntington Hospital for injuries that were not life-threatening.

Suffolk County Crime Stoppers and police released a surveillance image of the suspect Friday.

Authorities are offering a $5,000 reward for information that leads to an arrest. To give an anonymous tip, call 800-220-8477, text “SCPD” and a message to 274637, or send an email at tipsubmit.com.
